2022 Nico's Zinfandel
Tasting Notes:
San Luis Obispo County is a recognized AVA, and over ninety-seven percent of the vineyards are planted six or fewer miles away from the pacific ocean. The pacific ocean has a major influence on the terrain, suppling a broad variety of soil types ranging from marine to volcanic. The unique growing conditions provide the grapes to posses ideal characteristics producing fresh, focused, and mineral-driven wines, capturing the essence of the region. This Zinfandel has concentrated red fruit flavors of raspberry, cranberry, and plum with a crisp finish.
Appellation Notes: San Luis Obispo
A brand new AVA that was only officially recognized in 2022. Stretching from the border of Santa Barbara County to the Monterey County Line, this AVA includes all vineyards within this 15-mile swath, bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Lucia Mountains. This corridor houses 78 vineyards with 3,942 acres planted to vines. For consumers, this new designation gives their wine a true sense of place and understanding of climate soils, and geographic location.
