Hames Valley is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in Monterey County, CA, and is part of the largest Monterey County AVA. Due to its location at the southern end of the Salinas Valley, the warmer climate makes it an exceptional place to cultivate grapes while sheltering the wines from the Pacific Ocean winds. The loam soil enable grapes to grow with intense, bold flavors. Petit Verdot is one of the notable five varietals that flourish in the area, producing a dry, full-bodied wine with high tannins and medium acidity.
